Ovarian Cancers in Pregnancy

  • Chapter

Part of the book series: Recent Results in Cancer Research ((RECENTCANCER,volume 178))

Abstract

Pregnancy and its associated hormonal changes are inversely related to the risk of developing ovarian adenocarcinoma. Ovarian cancer is, however, the second most frequent gynecologic cancer in pregnancy. The incidence of ovarian masses in pregnancy is between 1% and 4% (Goff et al. 2000; Bernhard et al. 1999; Marino and Craigo 2000).
