Abstract
While modern indications for radiotherapy of skin cancers are well established, including the treatment of basal cell carcinoma, melanoma, Merkel cell tumors and cutaneous lymphomas, the use of ionizing radiation for non-malignant skin diseases has decreased considerably, because new and better systemic and local non-invasive and invasive treatment options have become available. Moreover, in many dermatological departments training and knowledge about using ionizing radiation have slowly faded away.
