Abstract
In the second phase of the workshop, each of the relevant outcomes were discussed and ways to improve the collaboration between the various disciplines were considered. A framework for these deliberations were provided by a consensus document which formed the results of a consensus meeting held by the French menopause society and 10-20 other national societies in Athens in May 2003. On the basis of this document, the workshop participants discussed the various outcomes (breast cancer, cardiovascular disease, bones and joints, colon cancer and mental aspects), which had been the topics of the Kloster Andechs Workshop.
For each of the points discussed, the wording of the conclusions reached at the Athens consensus meeting prefaces the summary of the ensuing Kloster Andechs discussions.
