Abstract
-
Intrastromal corneal ring segments are gaining popularity with time as a surgical alternative for correcting corneal ectatic disorders. With an increase in frequency of using such a technique, it is important that ophthalmic surgeons become oriented with the complications of this surgical procedure as well as the best way to handle these complications.
-
There are two commercially available types of Intrastromal corneal ring segments, Intacs® and KERARING®.
-
Intraoperative, during surgical semiautomated manual tunnel creation or the femtosecond laser tunnel creation, and postoperative, clinical, as well as visual, complications are briefed in this chapter.
