Zusammenfassung
One core belief of modern society is that schooling is a basic right of all children. Regardless of the actual eff ects of schooling, we have a fundamental belief in the positive outcomes related to school. Schooling, along with family, is our main institution for promoting cognitive development and societal membership, and the expansion and massifi cation of schooling represents a basic change in how we prepare children for adult life.
