Abstract
Effective pharmacotherapy is a valuable tool to treat addiction disorders. It has included partial μ agonist, such as buprenorphine, and μ opioid agonists, such as methadone. The pharmacological basis of maintenance treatment of dependent individuals is to minimize withdrawal symptoms.
