Strategic Innovation in Russia

Abstract

The management of strategic innovation in the twenty-first century world order has many new aspects. The creation of an innovation and its business model is a relatively easy task, the real issue is to make it work in practice and earn sustainable money. For this purpose it is necessary to myth bust several Western hard core ideas like open innovation and to explain the new reality of the future. Then, three aspects of management are central in the further discussions: creation of strategic innovations, management of growth phases longitudinal management comprising new leadership, institutionalized innovation, corporate governance, industrial governance and business development. It is all about growing the business and not about creating and developing a technology. For Russia specific adaptations in the management approaches are necessary to be effective and having impact. On the industry level, a new industrial tailor made Russian Volga-Amur industrial governance model has to be created and developed as a counter weight to the Anglo-Saxon model, the Rhineland model and the future Chinese Dragon model.
