Abstract
The study and interpretation of ultrasound images poses a challenge in the area of image processing due to the noise present in this type of images. This work proposes the use of a segmentation method based on level sets but it does not solve partial differential equations instead, the method fits the contour of the object of interest by means of the interchange of elements between two lists of adjacent pixels. The Gaussian distribution is used to model the data from the image and estimate the corresponding parameters in each step of the algorithm, updating the region that is to be segmented. With this proposal, a significant improvement in the contour fitting precision of the object of interest is obtained.
