Abstract

Amazingly large numbers of people claim to have had near-death experiences, according to the literature. One study shows that four per cent of all Germans report near-death experiences they have had during their lives. Studies from the USA show similar or even higher frequencies. Related to Germany with a population of 82 million inhabitants, this would mean that approximately three and a half million people have had near-death experiences.
