Abstract

Research related to targeting photosensitizers to cancerous tissues has been an area of increasing interest in photodynamic therapy (PDT) over the past decade. This thesis seeks to explore different approaches to develop phthalocyanine-based photosensitizers toward dual and targeted PDT, with a view to improving their specific delivery to cancerous tissues and efficiency in PDT.
