Abstract

Following the great recession of 2008, there was a significant increase in unemployment in the United States. As a result, the U.S. Federal Reserve pursued with renewed vigor, its dual mandate of maximum employment and stable prices as required by the Federal Reserve Act of 1913 and its subsequent amendment in 1977
