Abstract
This project is a chocolate factory and flagship store for the Viennese company niemetz, where visitors can glance into the manufacturing process of the delights. The firm was founded in the late 19th century. their current coffee shops in Linz and Salzburg, as well as the entire company image, are based on the vibe of the monarchic coffeehouses of fin de siècle Vienna. the project is in the center of the 1st district on a corner site facing a long plaza, neuer Markt. Other imperial pastry shops such as Demel, Gerstner, Oberlaa and Heiner are also very close. In this project, visitors can follow the different conditions of chocolate, from powder through liquid to solid, while touring the building. through an orchestrated sequence of public spaces they continuously become closer to the products.
