Abstract
This thesis project, a new building for the University of Applied Arts Vienna, explores the possibilities of spatial organization, connectivity and architectural effect through the rhythmic extension, lamination, thickening and dissolving of surfaces. the primary architectural system is a large, spatial ramp that threads through the school to create a continuous series of interaction spaces. these spaces act as catalysts for creativity and communication by creating mixing spaces for interdisciplinary and social exchange while also allowing studio spaces to spill into the more spatially open and highly visible zone of the building.
