Résumé

La contraception féminine a connu un essor considérable dans les années 1970, mais rien n’était proposé aux hommes qui souhaitaient prendre en charge le contrôle de leur fertilité, mis à part le préservatif, ou la vasectomie. Au début des années 1980, on a pu observer un courant militant pour la contraception masculine: en février 1980 était publié le n° 1 de la revue ARDECOM, consacré à la contraception masculine et à sa promotion. Parallèlement et au contact avec des équipes médicales, plusieurs expériences ont débuté en France, à Paris avec Jean-Claude Soufir dès 1978, puis à Lyon et à Toulouse.
