Il ne s’agit pas ici de refaire un chapitre détaillé d’anatomie de la totalité de la région anorectale. Le but est de faciliter la compréhension des structures impliquées dans les fistules anales, qu’il s’agisse des glandes anales, point de départ de ces suppurations, des structures musculaires sphinctériennes qu’elles traversent, des espaces parfois multiples qu’elles empruntent pour aboutir à la peau péri-anale ou dans la paroi rectale.
