Abstrait

L’andrologie est une nouvelle spécialité médicale multidisciplinaire, dont le nom dérive du mot grec “andros”, qui traite des problèmes des sujets de sexe masculin, avec un accent particulier mis sur la physiologie et la physiopathologie des fonctions de reproduction masculines. Par conséquent, son centre d’intérêt clinique principal est le diagnostic et le traitement des troubles de la fertilité masculine. L’andrologie est ainsi l’équivalent masculin de la gynécologie et traite des troubles des organes de reproduction masculins. Dans certaines régions du monde, l’andrologie est en relation étroite ou même partie intégrante des centres de fécondation in vitro. Selon la définition de l’Organisation Mondiale de la Santé (OMS), l’andrologie traite de tous les aspects de la santé reproductive masculine.
