Abstract

The identification of such involvement, together with organ involvement (Chap. 10), is to be interpreted as the indication of an inflammatory rheumatic disease or condition. The combined element of these two mega syndromes is vascular involvement, which should be perceived as primary in vasculitis or secondary in connective tissue disease (CTD) and vasculitis as well as many other diseases and conditions (infections, tumors, drug toxicity, metabolic, such as Fabry’s disease). The key to primary forms of vasculitis can be found in the morphological categorization of such vascular involvement (Chaps. 9.2.1 and 9.2.2). With secondary forms of vasculitis, every vessel (group) could be affected, in principle, thereby defining the myriad of vascular and organ symptoms listed below.
