Abstract

Section 3.1 describes the relational data model, which is a particular data abstraction that uses relations or tables to represent the data in a database. Section 3.2 introduces the relational algebra query language, while Section 3.3 introduces the Structured Query Language (SQL) for relational databases. Finally, Section 3.4 discusses the evaluation of relational database queries.
