Abstract

Robotic surgery is a new minimally invasive approach readily endorsed by patients, surgeons, and institutions alike. As with so many new technologies, the concept started out slowly with only a few selected medical applications, but as it became increasingly popular, there has been an explosion of indications (Table 19.1).
