Declarations

  • Chapter
The Fortran 2003 Handbook

Abstract

Declarations are used to specify the type and other attributes of program entities. The attributes that an entity possesses determine how the entity may be used in a program. Every variable and function has a type, which is the most important of the attributes; type is discussed in 4. However, type is only one of a number of attributes that an entity may possess.
