Abstract

The broad category of noninfectious inflammatory pulmonary diseases encompasses a wide variety of pathologic entities with myriad clinical presentations. This chapter seeks to guide the informed, judicious use of imaging in the initial work-up and subsequent follow-up of patients with these often widely disparate conditions. The topics to be covered in this chapter include sarcoidosis, common variable immunodeficiency, primary immunodeficiencies (X-linked agammaglobulinemia, X-linked immunoproliferative syndrome), low-grade lymphoproliferative disorders (follicular bronchiolitis, lymphoid interstitial pneumonia, Castleman disease, lymphomatoid granulomatosis), and allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.
