Part of the book series: Contemporary Endocrinology ((COE))

Summary

Cushing’s disease is a serious endocrinopathy that if untreated greatly increases morbidity and carries a fourfold increase in mortality, largely related to associated cardiovascular complications and abnormal glucose metabolism. This chapter discusses the surgical management of Cushing’s disease, including surgical techniques, complications, and outcomes, as well as the management of residual or recurrent disease.
