Summary
With the recent rapid technological advances, computed tomography (CT), particularly multislice CT, has assumed a greater role in the evaluation of various pediatric airway disorders. With its ability to generate isotropic, high-resolution images as well as high-quality multiplanar and 3D images with faster scan times, CT is especially helpful in evaluating the large airways in children. This chapter addresses patient preparation and CT imaging techniques for evaluating large airway disorders in children. The main focus of this chapter is to illustrate CT appearances of common large airway disorders, which occur in a diverse spectrum of conditions including congenital anomalies, neoplasm, infection and acquired cause such as tracheobronchial stricture
