Abstract
Spectroscopy is a very wide field of physics, and it is very important to select an appropriate methodology when attempting to solve practical problems. This book addressed problems of designing, engineering, and improvement of sophisticated devices, using as their central part a high-frequency electrodeless gaseous discharge. The spectroscopic methods were used here not only for basic research such as precise determination of atomic constants, collisional parameters, investigations of electron and ion velocity distributions, and mechanisms leading to the frequency distribution of the emitted spectrum. In addition, practical spectroscopy was used to optimize spectral sources and manufacture with high reproducibility bulbs filled with exactly defined amounts of metals and noble gases.
