Abstract

Many foreign investors have found the Czech Republic to be a strategically attractive investment location in Eastern Europe. However, investment activities in this country are associated with many hurdles and risks. Forty years of a planned economy have left their mark on financial life in general. Foreign investment companies do not always plan their investments sufficiently and thus make many mistakes when carrying them out. In this chapter we will outline the basic conditions for investment in the Czech Republic. It is intended to answer some of the broad and most important questions regarding portfolio investment opportunities in the Czech Republic.
