Abstract

In this chapter we introduce the concept of joint normalization of noise and spectral tilt as well as the idea of preprocessing in the cepstral domain as opposed to the frequency domain. We first define the model of the environment that will be used in the remaining of the monograph and we introduce techniques that accomplish the processing in the cepstral domain.
