Abstract
Mark Twain did indeed have plenty to say about the weather. He also famously said, “it is best to read the weather forecast before we pray for rain.” He was likely aware that something could be done about forecasting the weather, namely by observing and understanding the weather, rather than attempting to directly influence or control it.
“Everyone talks about the weather, but nobody does anything about it.”
—Mark Twain (1835–1910)
