Abstract
In this chapter, we review the response of an elastic half space to a horizontal harmonic point force. Due to complexities of the mathematical procedures for addressing the problem of dynamic response of surface of an elastic half-space subjected to concentrated shear force, the literature has been confined to the simpler problem of the axial symmetrical or two-dimensional case, where the concentrated line source acts on the surface. In the present chapter the three-dimensional problem is solved by following the procedure that was used in the last chapter and results are obtained by employing numerical techniques to retransform the displacements.
