Results of Laparoscopic Repair of Inguinal Hernia

Abstract

There are 600–800 thousand inguinal hernia repaired a year. Of these, approximately 30% are performed laparoscopically. Since 1990, this technique has evolved through phases of exploration, scrutiny, and clinical studies. The history, results and considerations are reviewed.
