Abstract
We know now that there are planets out there orbiting stars other than the Sun. But surely what we really want to know is whether other Earth-like planets exist – are there planets out there with roughly Earth’s mass, containing liquid water, and that might, just might, support life? Perhaps the next generation of optical telescopes will answer this age-old question.
