Abstract
In this chapter, we introduce the challenges for dialectal Arabic speech recognition. State-of-the-art techniques in this area are discussed and summarized. In order to improve speech recognition accuracy for dialectal Arabic, several approaches are introduced focusing on cross-lingual techniques where we can benefits from existing standard Arabic speech resources.
