Abstract
The Merriam Webster dictionary defines a festoon as “a decorative chain hanging between two points” [1]. Patients presenting with festoons would vehemently disagree with this definition: they are not decorative – they are disfiguring (Fig. 19.1). Festoons in the eyelid are redundant folds of loose skin, muscle, fat, and interstitial edema which extend from beyond the lateral cheek often beyond the midpupillary line, even from canthus to canthus. Occasionally, the skin will become pigmented from chronicity. Patients with festoons will report that they have a tired appearance.
