Abstract

Chapter 3 explicates the drivers of Hollywood’s global competitive advantage combining and harmonizing perspectives from various fields of study. First, the economic drivers are analyzed within the “national diamond” framework: factor conditions, relating and supporting industries, demand conditions, and strategy/structure/rivalry conditions. Subsequently, the analysis is enriched with an interdisciplinary approach, enabling the study to shed light on the potential threats to Hollywood’s global primacy in an evolving landscape.
