Abstract
Abd-al-Rahman Al-Sufi (also called Azophi or Al-Sufi “The Mystic”) was a Persian astronomer and nobleman living at the court of the Emire Adud ad-Daula in Isfahan (Persia). There is not a lot of information to tell us about the life of Al-Sufi, but we know he worked on the translation of early Greek astronomical texts, in particular the Almagest of Ptolemy.
