Abstract
Halton Arp is a cum laude graduate of Harvard and California Institute of Technology. He has won many awards, including the Newcomb Cleveland research award, the Alexander von Humboldt Senior Scientist Award, and the Helen B. Warner prize. Early in his career he conducted observations at the Mt. Wilson Observatory and the Palomar Observatory. By 1957 he became a full time staff member at the Palomar Observatory and continued to work there for 29 years.
