Abstract
Feed costs in intensive aquaculture typically range from 30–60% of variable operating costs. In general, the simpler the production technology the higher will be the proportion of the feed costs within the operating budget of the farm. Effective feed management involves the control of these operating costs, while at the same time maximizing farm output levels and maintaining product quality.
