Abstract
The contents of this book are based largely on data. In most reports of empirical research, the author introduces the topic area of inquiry, describes the method used to test hypotheses, and then presents and interprets the major findings of interest. A similar, though more expanded, approach will be adopted in this monograph. Rather than report the results of one or two studies, we shall discuss in subsequent chapters the major findings uncovered in the burgeoning area of entrapment research. Following journal format, we will now describe the various experimental methodologies that researchers have employed. This chapter, then, is a collective method section, in which the different experimental procedures will be described in some detail.
