Abstract

Myocardial infarction is well recognised in Hughes syndrome, as are valvular lesions. Less well recognised but probably frequent are angina (including syndrome X) and arrhythmias. It is likely that Hughes syndrome will become recognised as an important cause of myocardial ischaemia, especially in women under 50.
