Abstract

In this chapter, the fundamentals on the derivation of the PV source circuit models are given. Starting from a circuit model, defined on the basis of the PV cell physical behavior described in Chap. 2, the modeling is refined introducing the parasitic resistance effects and nonideality of the junction. Then, the model is extended and generalized to the case of single modules and their connection to form a PV field. Finally, the effects of partial shading are introduced in the PV field modeling.
