Abstract
Acute tendon ruptures in the sports medicine population occur most commonly in the Achilles tendon. Literature supports surgical treatment of acute complete Achilles tendon tears, particularly in athletic and hi-demand individuals.1-1 Partial tears in high-level athletes may also warrant surgical treatment. Achilles ruptures occur in many sports and patients often recount feeling and even hearing a “pop.”
