Abstract
Cavus foot is not a diagnosis, but simply a description. It is as generic as its essential opposite – planus foot (pes planus), commonly known as “flatfoot.” Just as “flatfoot” can vary from a quite normal and totally asymptomatic low-arched foot with normal sagittal alignment relative to the ankle, a high-arched foot also can be well aligned and relatively asymptomatic although it is usually a bit stiffer than a low-arched foot.
