Abstract

Edmonton Obesity Staging System, or EOSS, represents a simple clinical staging framework that provides an indication of obesity-related disease extent and severity. In addition, it is a better predictor of mortality than current anthropometric measures of obesity such as BMI or WC. Thus, EOSS not only has the potential to enhance clinical decision-making but could also serve as a useful tool for researchers, payers, and policy makers to better define the impact of excess body fat on health and well-being.
