Abstract
Sun computer systems come in many shapes and sizes, each of which has been designed for a special purpose. Systems such as the 3/50, 3/60, 4/110, and the SPARCstation™ 1 were designed to be used on a desktop by a single user. Deskside machines, such as the 3/260 and 4/260, allow for more expandability and power than the desktop machines, but can still be used by a single user. Both the desktop and the deskside machines are considered to be workstations. The larger, rack mounted machines such as the 3/280, 4/280, 4/390, and the 4/490 were designed to be fileservers.
