Abstract
This book focuses on the importance of parental involvement in the education of their children and on the key role that professionals, especially school and educational psychologists, can play in supporting teachers and schools to develop effective involvement strategies and activities for parents. Other professionals, including school counselors and social workers, can also make important contributions, but it is argued that school and educational psychologists are the ones whose training and roles in the education system make them ideally placed to provide guidance to schools, teachers, and parents on developing effective involvement.
