Abstract

Loneliness is a threat to the positive development of children’s adaptation and reflects several cumulative risk and protective factors. The continuous professional efforts to support positive development and resilience require multifaceted strategies and strategic, sequential timing plans (Masten, Herbers, Cutuli, & Lafavor, 2008. In order to prevent and buffer the cumulative risks of social isolation, and to empower children in their developmental struggles, specific attention to multiple components and processes is requested at multiple levels to promote resilience. Resilience has been broadly defined as the skills, attributes, and abilities that enable individuals to adapt to hardships, difficulties, and challenges.
