Abstract
Are you and I doing what Rumi called our “Real Work?” Before beginning this chapter, you and I should pause to reflect that we are a self-selected group. I don’t mean to seem elitist, but not every physician would pick up a book on Medical Wisdom and Doctoring, much less read it as far as page 333. But you have done so. Applause! Your attention to the thoughts expressed this book suggests that, as a physician, you aspire to make your work meaningful, perhaps even spiritual, and certainly more than the mechanical effort of passing a colonoscope or reading an X-ray over and over each day.
