Abstract

Even though there are already a few touch-screen-based devices (e.g., the iPhone. Blackberry. Nokia 5800 Express Music, Nokia N97. etc.), the majority of mobile devices are still key based. Mobile applications for these key-based devices are always based on the same flow: navigate to a certain option using the arrow keys and execute a task via the enter key or the soft keys. Guiding the user through the application flow intuitively is crucial to a successful application. Not having to think which key should be pressed makes for a good user experience. That’s why we think it is important to create an optimized mobile interface that guides users along the way, and that’s exactly what we will handle in this chapter.
