Abstract

Not so long ago, SQL Server was seen just as a desktop database, without merit in the enterprise, due to its performance, scalability, and, to some degree, security. Veteran SQL Server users can tell you that the performance and scalability have come a long way, and now SQL Server can absolutely compete toe-to-toe with all relational database products on the market today. But what about security? Microsoft has made a noticeable effort over the past five years to make SQL Server the most secure database product on the planet.
