Pro Oracle Database 10g RAC on Linux

Abstract

In this chapter, we discuss the Oracle Cluster File System (OCFS), which is an open source cluster file system provided by Oracle for use with Linux, Windows, and, most recently, Solaris. In the following chapter, we will discuss ASM, which provides similar functionality, but also includes volume management capabilities, such as disk balancing and redundancy.
