Abstract
Traditional machining operations normally lead to the alterations of surface and subsurface that makes it different from the bulk material. In order to avoid undesirable alterations that may have adverse affect on the quality of the machined components it is essential to know the various types of alteration and their origin. It is also important to know the cutting parameters and tool geometry that will lead to machined components of high-quality.
